YUCEC Music Academy, included in our academic studies and which has been lacking
in our country, is a scientific, creative, disciplined and auditable music academy program, intended for the benefit of young participants.
By giving music training, it is aimed to make our participants good music listeners with respect to understanding and loving qualitative music, provide them with a valuable lifelong hobby that they can take up with the education they receive at YUCEC Music School, and ensure that our participants will be able to transfer the skills they have gained through this significant education from the early ages to professional academic music training at tertiary level.
Along with 45 minutes one-to one classes once a week, participants who have made progress will be given an opportunity to give a “CONCERT” on the university’s modern and exquisite campus.
When our participants, who are currently taking solfege and instrument lessons, reach a sufficient level, they will be able to work with Youth Orchestra, Chamber Music and Choir.
There are two different training programmes at our Music Academy.
- Certificate Program:
It is a program that teaches music to 6-18 years old participants. Participants are supposed to take an examination to be able to attend the program. During the exam, a jury determine what level the participant is going to be trained at. The program is composed of 8-12 levels. Passing to an upper level requires passing the level exam. The achievement test is held at the end of each spring semester. The participants are expected to complete the level they are studying in successfully and play the given sheets of music adequately before the jury.
Certificate of Achievement: Participants who complete 8-12 level course program and fulfill the requirements of success are given Certificate of Achievement.
- Development Program at Hobby Level:
There is no age limit and entrance exam in this program. Solfege lessons in addition to instrument lessons are optional.
Gifted Children Program: They are selected with a test by the jury. Those children have special training.

Concerts: The Participants who are found eligible to perform at the concerts organised annually are given a chance to present their improvement and they experience the unique feeling of giving a concert on the stage.
Parent Support to Participant Development: We strongly recommend parents to take their talented children to concerts and make them listen to quality music frequently for their improvement. Besides, it should not be forgotten that a successful training can come to fruition more healthily with the help of cooperation between parents and teachers.
Daily Work: It is important that our participants practise the given assignments with their instruments on a daily basis to be able to benefit and get the best of the training program. The daily practice time is determined by the teacher according to the participant’s ability level.
Terms of Attendance: Participants are supposed to attend the 80% of the classes. When participants do not attend the class without an excuse, there will be no make up class and that class is considered done. The teachers are obliged to have make up lessons for the ones they cancel.
